1971

The Centre for Research on Transportation (CRT) was established in 1971 by Université de Montréal. Since 1988, it has been jointly managed by Université de Montréal, HEC Montréal and Polytechnique Montréal. The CRT developed internationally recognized expertise in quantitative and computer-based methods applied to the planning, management and operation of transportation networks.

1994

CENTOR was founded in 1994 and recognized as a research centre in 1996. Its research focused on technologies for the design, planning and management of companies and their networks, as well as the development of innovative approaches and tools for supply chain engineering and management.

2001

Polygistique was created in 2001 at Polytechnique Montréal as a research group specializing in logistics engineering. The NSERC Industrial Research Chair in Logistics Management at UQAM, recognized in 2006, also contributed to advancing models, methods and tools for the planning of logistics and transportation systems.

2013

Three new institutional partners joined CIRRELT: Concordia University, École de technologie supérieure and McGill University, further strengthening the Centre’s interuniversity and multidisciplinary character.

Aujourd'hui

CIRRELT today brings together a major community of researchers working to advance knowledge in the engineering and management of logistics, business and transportation networks, while maintaining a broad network of collaborations in Quebec and internationally.
